Not An Exclusive. Top Paid City Workers

Don't be fooled.

A so-called news publication in town recently touted an “exclusive” story.

What was it?

A list of the 250 top paid people in Albuquerque city government.

There's one big problem with the publication's use of the word “exclusive.”

The information is anything but exclusive. In fact, it's free and easily available on the city's website. Just click here to see the list.

And if you click here, you'll get a breakdown in which city departments those top earners are employed. Here's some "exclusive" public information: of those 250 top earners, 127 are police department employees, and 49 are in the fire department.

Chief Administrative Officer Rob Perry is the city's top earner at $189,936 a year. He's followed by APD Chief Gorden Eden at $166,699 a year.

Want to see how much the city has paid its contractor vendors? Go here.

Go here to search the pay rate of regular, or classified, city employees by name.

And go here to search the pay rate of city department heads and other unclassified employees.

There's a lot of other public information that's available at the city's transparency site. It's just a mouse click away, and you don't have to buy a subscription to get it.
