New Mexico's gross domestic product grew by 1.7 percent in the third quarter of 2017, but that was the fourth-worst growth rate among the states, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis said Wednesday.
The state's GDP grew by $724 million to $97.8 billion, but again, the 1.7 percent growth rate was one of the worst in the nation.
Only three states had lower growth rates: Hawaii, 1.3 percent; Louisiana, 1.1 percent; and South Dakota, 0.5 percent.
GDP growth in surrounding states dwarfed New Mexico's. Here's a look:
