New Mexico's GDP grew by 1.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017, but it was the slowest growth rate of any state in the region, and the 40th worst rate in the nation.
As of the end of December 2017, the state's GDP was $99.1 billion, up from $97.5 billion in the third quarter of 2017, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Twelve of the state's 19 industry sectors grew during the quarter, while seven had GDP decreases.
The good news is that New Mexico has posted GDP increases in six of the last eight quarters.
