Keller to Seniors: Starve A-holes! Starve!

-- Methheads, crackheads, criminals and other assorted slime get free bus rides while seniors get a 300 percent cost increase for city breakfast.

Maybe Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller wants old people to starve. Or at least go broke trying to eat at city senior centers.

On Monday, July 6, Keller and his crew raised the prices of breakfasts at senior and multi-generational centers by as much as 300 percent. That's right, 300 percent.

While crackheaads and methheads, and criminals and homeless bums get to ride city buses for free at your expense—yes, free—Keller and his crew of commie and Stalinists progressives have decided to make old people pay lots more money for food.

The price of an English muffin egg breakfast sandwich at city senior centers has climbed by 300 percent, from seventy-five cents to $3.00.

The cost of a Huevos Rancheros at city centers has increased by 233 percent, from $1.50 to $5.00.

A breakfast burrito has gone up by 166 percent, from $1.50 to $4.00. And the price of a regular breakfast (two eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon or sausage) has soared by 167 percent, from $1.50 to $4.00.

Keller's commies have told media outlets that food prices have increased dramatically in the past few years. That's true, but they haven't gone up by 300 percent. And, those low subsidized prices had been in place for 17 years. But overall inflation since 2009 has risen by 56.2 percent, not 300 percent. Had normal inflationary figures been applied, that breakfast burrito should be $2.34 today, not $4.00. And that Huevos Rancheros should be $2.34, not $5.00. That breakfast sandwich should cost $1.17, not $3.00.

It's crazy because it's not as if tens of thousands of chintzy seniors are bankrupting the city by clamoring for low-cost breakfasts and free lunches. On average, in 2025, the city's senior and multi-cultural centers served 1,500 people a day for breakfast and lunch. Whacking 1,500 people a day for an extra 300 percent isn't going close any serious budget deficit.

And what about those free bus rides? Well, in 2004, the city taxpayers subsidized the free bus service with $42 million. The total operating budget for the bus system was $62 million. That is entirely subsidized by city, state and federal taxpayers, because in 2023, the city decided to make all bus rides free. That's right, it collects no fares. And what has zero fares done for ridership? Well, last year, the bus system had a daily average of 22,289 boardings. That's not 22,000 different people. That's maybe 10,000 people taking the bus to and from work, or a doctor's office or other appointment. Each time a person steps on a bus counts as a separate boarding.

Back in 2009, just before the pandemic, when the city charged a dollar for a bus ride, and when the bus system took in $4 million in fares, daily average boardings were 31,578. So going to zero fares has caused bus ridership to fall by 30 percent. Great job, Keller.

What this means is that Keller and his Stalinist commie friends are subsidizing every every bus riding crackhead, fiend and bum to the tune of $5,600 a year. And yet they can't spare a few bucks a day for about 1,500 seniors.

Food prices have gone up, Keller's goons say, so oldsters have to pay 300 percent more for breakfast.

But fuel prices for buses have skyrockted, and Keller hasn't raised bus prices for all the feinds, crackheads; he still lets them ride for free. WTF?

They can't spare a few bucks a day for seniors, many of whom are on fixed incomes, and most of whom obeyed every law there was and dutifully paid their taxes. They can't spare a few bucks a day for seniors who spent decades working their asses off, building this city and country and raising kids and grandkids. That's sick.

The city should reinstate the $1-a-ride bus fare and scuttle the 300 percent breakfast increase for oldsters. How about it Timmy? Why do you think old people should pay 300 percent more for breakfast?

As a Facebook friend put it:

“Timmy, and his ilk, are especially interested in all the Low Life, Gutter Crawler, street scum! THEY have become the Democrap VOTING BASE! Promise THEM "Free Stuff" and you're sure to WIN The "working class" are just there to be BLED.”

And as another friend put it, “We will have to make a choice—depends or food.”

Great job, Commie Keller. Starve those old people!
